I really enjoyed doing this layout. Obviously what hit me was the negative letters effect and I wanted to try this for so long, this was the time!!

Papers: My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Two Collection (Blush)
Inks: Brown Pigment ink pen, Chestnut Cat's Eye chalk ink and Chocolate Cherry Glimmer Mist
Ornaments: Glitter Chipboards, brads, buttons, paper embellies are ALL from My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Two Collection, and there is also a small piece of polka-dotted miscellaneous ribbon and 4 plain brads
Tools: Crafter's Workshop Template - Branches

I went around and around in my head with this one. I just could not get past the grid thing. So, that is what I did with this one. I figured it was my brain trying to tell me something.

Supplies:
My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two Collection (Breeze)
Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)

This week the ladies are working with this fabulous inspiration picture put forward by Julie!  There is a lot going on in this picture and that means a lot to be inspired by!

I was inspired by all of the roundness of this image as well as the colour blocking of colours in the middle surrounded by a solid colour.

This is one of the most simple layouts I've ever done - just punched a bunch of circles and then used pop dots to make the edges pop out

Supplies:
Authentique Patterned paper - Blissful collection
American Crafts Pop Dots
Bazzill Cardstock
Kraft Cardstock
Corner Chomper
Thickers

Design Team Monday!

We have a new challenge from our fantastic Design Team.  This week they are once again working from an inspiration picture.   I love seeing all of the different interpretations on this.

And here is what the team did from it........

Michele

Here is my layout. It's strange how people see things in a different way... With this inspiration picture, I saw a subject on the bottom right hand corner and it seemed to burst out towards the top left. DH and I were discussing this and he said he saw the opposite: A subject flying in from the sky and landing on the bottom right corner!!

The black and red really hit me with a Steampunk style, actually, that's the first thing I saw. So this is what came out of it.

The journaling: (I was inspired by Jenn's article on journaling!!)

Everyone adored her,
She was a young widower;
Aurore, my grand-mother.
She was a lady like no other.

She was patient, generous & kind;
A Saint in my mind.
Her kitchen was never too small
And she always stood tall.

Her heart was so big,
She was as sweet as a fig.
She's the one who raised me,
Part of my soul, she'll always be.

(And the part in white around the corner says: Here is my grand-mother when she was 20 years old, in 1923.)

Paper: Bo Bunny Timepiece collection, beige and brown cardstock.
Inks: Rangers Vintage Photo Distress ink, Cat's Eye chestnut roan chalk and pigment inks, Smooch and
Glimmer Mist alcohol inks. Brown pigment ink pen and white gel pen.
Ornaments: Bo Bunny Timepiece collection chipboard and trinket, Prima flower, beige and brown ribbons
and Harmony measuring tape ribbon, Tim Holtz metal sprockets and key, leaf pins, Maya Road kraft
envelope, brads and shrink plastic keyhole ornament.
Other: Stickles and Glossy Accents
Tools: I used a «Sprightly Sprocket» Spellbinder and a Tim Holtz «Timeworks» clock mask and a paper distresser.

Bo Bunny Chipboard accents
Misc letter stickers, gems and twine

This L/O is actually surprisingly simple....3 full circles layered, then one circle with the centre cut out to allow the base paper to show through giving the illusion of another circle. Then I just added the gems, the butterflies and the twine.

This image kind of reminded me of space which was perfect for the papers that I had this month but then for some reason the dots on the paper reminded me of a type of mask so I got this idea to use the negative sheet from a sheet of cardstock stickers as part of my background.

Supply list:
Bazzill metallic cardstock
Sticker sheet - Sassafrass Lass
Chipboard Embellishments - Bo Bunny Blast Off
Letter stickers - Basic Grey, American Crafts

Michele - Here is mine. I will give it a couple coats of sealant so that this calendar can be carried in a purse without worrying about damaging it. But I took photos first to avoid light reflection while taking photos. So this is before coating with the clear sealant.  The front page (January) is inspired the ad above, oh-so-cool and inspiring indeed!!

Pop back here on Wednesday to get a look at the rest of this gorgeous calendar.

Material Used:
Maya Road coaster set
Maya Road Bingo card
Bazzill card stock
Inks: Smooch Spritz-Cherry Ice
Cat's Eye chalk ink
Black Memento ink
Gold Perfect Pearls
Black, brown and white pens for doodling
Copics to recolour here and there
Ornaments: button, brads, eyelets, metal corner and flowers

Thats's right, besides the brads, I hardly used anything on this calendar, it's ALL in the Nikki Sivils beautiful papers and a little ink for extras!!! This makes a great gift at Christmas time (this one is for grandma).

Virginia - I had SO MUCH FUN with this challenge - I definitely went out of my "comfort zone" of scrapping a clean and simple lined page but that's the fun of a challenge right? I even (gasp) misted freehand! Up till now I've only ever misted on chipboard or through a mask but to me this page is all about how chaotic my life has become since having my son (in a good way!) so I wanted to visually represent that with this layout

Supply list
Patterned Paper - Nikki Sivils Summer
Mist - Smooch
Cardstock - Bazzill
Letter stickers - Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey
Embellies - Maya Road, October Afternoon, Girls Paperie, Prima
