May Product Highlight - Fun Tape!!

This month we are focusing on the fabulous Fun Tape by Kiki Art! These little runners of fun come in several different styles and add a perfect finishing touch to your layout!!

For the entire month of May, pick yours up for 15% off!!

Now, let's check out what the team came up with.....

Vicki - I used the Magica Funtape from Kiki Art. It's a really quick fun way to add sewing stitches! I will be using this on a lot of projects to come!

Tanya - What an absolutely fun product! I received the Antologia Familia (kind of a criss cross X shape). I layered it between papers, on letter stickers and cardstock. No problems at all with different heights to the papers, just rolled on through.

Heather - I used the Antologia Amor Fun Tape in creating an anniversary card. It rolls on very smoothly and looks fabulous. I love this product.

Shelley - I used the Antologia Jardin Fun Tape on the ribbon to make my flowers.

A new team and sneak peeks!!!

I am so thrilled to announce our new Design Team! These fabulous ladies will be here to provide inspiration, motivation and fun for the next nine months. I know that I for one cannot wait to see what they come up with!!

Without any further ado, let me introduce you to the newest Turtle DT....

Returning for another term is the super fabulous....

Heather Haggett

Hello everyone!!! My name is Heather. I'm known as SaraSamsMom in the pond. I'm very lucky to be married to my soulmate Gary and to be called Mommy by the two most incredible children in the world, Sara and Samuel. My family is my everything and I feel richly blessed to have them in my life. They are my inspiration and the reason that I scrapbook. My interest in scrapbooking began several years ago when I became addicted to all the pretty papers and embellies, although I didn't really start scrapbooking until 2006 after Sara was born. My passion has continued to grow ever since to the point that my craft is one of the top most important things in my life, along with my family and my love for teaching children. My style continues to evolve and I hope it always will. I am a lifelong learner and look forward to continuing to grow and learn for the rest of my life. Being on the Design Team last term was a dream come true and an incredible experience. I am extremely excited, delighted and honoured to be back for a second term on the Design Team. I'm looking forward to a fabulous term of inspiration, creation and fun on the Scrapping Turtle Design Team.

Another familiar face from a few terms back.....

Victoria Murray

I'm Victoria Murray (please call me Vicki though) and I'm thrilled to be back on the Scrapping Turtle Design Team! I've loved the Turtle ever since joining in Spring 2008. Most of you on the Message Boards know me, so, I won't bore you with my usual biography. Here's some rare facts about me: I hate when popsicle sticks touch my teeth. I can't stand having one wet hand and one dry hand. My favourite food is Vichysoisse (cold leek and potato soup, preferably made by me, from Julia Child's recipe). I loooooove naps and scrapbooking!

And new to the team but not necessarily new to the Turtle family is.....

Tanya Caple

Hi everyone, I'm Tanya and a self diagnosed scrap-a-holic. In order to support my hobby, I work full time as a Vocational Consultant. I am lucky enough to have a position where I can build my hours and work on a flexible schedule. This has really helped me find the time to be creative while making the money to pay for my habit.

Fortunately, I have a very supportive husband who allows me the time to enjoy my hobby whether that be surfing the turtle site or just sitting down with my papers and photos to create.

It feels like I have been doing some form of scrapbooking for my entire life. I remember creating an album of a trip to my uncle's wedding when I was 11 that included pieces of construction paper, ticket stubs and journalling. That was over 20 years ago! Although the craft itself has changed dramatically since that time, I still find the main reason I scrap is the same - to perserve my memories. My main focus has also evolved and the main subjects in my pages now tend to target my two beautiful girls, Jenna and Laura. They are my muse and love helping me add the perfect embellishments to my pages. I am definitely training them young.

I am thrilled to have been invited to be on the Turtle design team and hope I will be able to inspire you to create some of your own works of art.

Shelley Scheeringa

My name is Shelley, aka bananagirl on the forum. I am a SAHM, with three kids, Monique (14), Hannah (11), Colin (5) & my DH of almost 24 years John. I divide my “stay at home” time volunteering in my kid’s schools, and with their extra curricular activities. I love being able to make a difference in their school experience. In my spare time I try to squeak in some “me time” for scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking in 2001 and my style has changed somewhat since then, I like clean lines, and everything in proportion, but will soften it up by layering and distressing the embellishments. I am very excited to be a part of such a great Design Team for The Scrapping Turtle and I am hoping that I will become more comfortable to step outside my comfort zone, and would love to inspire others to do so too.

Lizzie Oakley

I'm Lizzie, I'm 26 and I live in Texas City, TX... I'm a momma and a crafter! That's pretty much my life! I have three kiddos... Adin is four, Lily is two, and Jax is my baby! Life couldn't be better! I've been scrapbooking for about three years now and I absolutely LOVE it! I love taking pictures and I love making them look gorgeous with papers and doo-dads! Not only do I papercraft... but I crochet and paint and I try to do quilting and other crafty things as well. In fact... I love crafting SO much I've realized that I want to be an art teacher! So look out world... here I come!

And now that we have met the ladies, let's see what they have been up to. This month is all about Fancy Pants!!!

Shelley - I got the Rusted Sun Line from Fancy Pants, and I absolutely love it, I have so many photos that go with this line, it was hard to choose. For the "sand" I wet the paper and crinkled it up, then sprayed it with glitter mist (hard to see in the pic) and let it dry in the sun, then ironed it to set it and flatten it a bit.

Heather - This month I am working with the fantastic About A Girl line. I Fancy {heart} Pants and this line doesn't disappoint. The double-sided papers are beautiful and the range of embellishments is fabulous. There are glitter cuts, transparencies, ribbon, brads, buttons, tags and titles, rub ons, stickers, an alphabet, and a fantastic journaling notebook.

Vicki - I received the Memo Note Book this month. I love the papers, there's lots of them and they are all gorgeous! I used the QK Nesting label die, Spun Sugar Distress Ink, Fancy Pants letters, rub ons, brads and stickers. I coloured Prima's e-line white flowers with homemade spray ink (distress ink re-inkers, perfect pearls and water). I also used Kaisercraft bling coloured with copic markers.

Tanya - I received the "My Family" line from Fancy Pants. This line has great muted shades with some blasts of red. Perfect paper in my opinion! There are also some wonderful add ons to this paper including rubons, ribbon and buttons. I started with the red polka dot paper as a base and then used a double strip from the "Strips" paper. I also cut out one of the journalling pieces and a square of pp for the top corner. For the swirls on the top corner, I used the Quickutz embossing folder and then cut out the embossed piece. Added a MR chipboard double heart (from one of the keychains) and rubon letters. I also had some of the KI alphabet soup numbers from years ago and they just seemed like the perfect fit.

Lizzie - Lizzie has had herself a busy week with giving birth to the newest member of her family! Her sneak peek will be added soon!!

Don't forget to stop by the forum so you can keep up with all the fun stuff this team has in store.

HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY EVERYONE!!
