QuicKutz Korner is back!

Welcome to Quickutz Korner!

This month I am playing with the newest Quickutz Cookie Cutters-Nesting Flowers.
These flowers are fabulous with 4 different sizes to play with and many ways to use them to pretty up your projects.

For my first project I created a layout called My Girl.
I crumpled up each flower for dimension and then layered them. Adding pop dots gave them more of a popped look

For this next layout I wanted a soft, baby girl effect so I framed the smaller pics with the flowers. I also used 1 flower for my journaling block and added a few flowers under the title.

Don't forget cards!

This card was a lot of fun to create.
I popped up my image on layered flowers. I also added flowers around the card. I then added 2 flowers on the inside of the card for writing. Adding little pearls to some of the petals completed the pretty look of the flowers.

These flowers are so versatile and the ideas for using them are endless.
-Glue them together to make a border on your pages
-Emboss them
-Curl the edges of each flower for that ‘real’ flower look
-Distress the edges and ink for that weathered look
-Use them as frames
-Layer each side (pop them up with pop dots), put a hole in the top, add some ribbon and hang them. Makes a very pretty ornament.
-Use the largest die to make a mini album.

Ok, Ive given you some ideas, now run with it and create beautiful projects.
Make sure you upload them on the Turtle Soup gallery and post a link here on the Blog so we can all see them and for a chance to win some goodies!

These fabulous dies are on sale at Scrapping Turtle for the month of July for 15% off.
Hurry and get them, they wont last long!

May Mystery Kit Winner!!

The month of May had all of the Mystery Kit takers playing with some goodies from Kiki Art. Some fabulous layouts were created but of course there can be only one winner.

(Just as a total aside, my husband would be so proud that that phrase invoked thoughts of Highlander. "There can be only one". However, here at the Turtle, we do not decapitate those who don't win. We just invite you all back to play again next month.)

Okay!! Creepy, completely unrelated tangent now over. Let's get back to scrappyness, shall we!

First, take a look at this month's kit......

Papers and embellishments may vary slightly

And the winner for this month, as chosen through a vote by our fantastic forum members, is.....

Heather Haggett

Congrats girl!!

And here is her fab layout....

As always Mystery Kits are released the last Sunday of each month but don't last long. So, get in and get yours while you can!

For the month of June, the ladies at the store have very generously agreed to donate $2 from the sale of each kit to Crop for the Cure. I cannot think of a better reason to go in and pick one up today!!

But, if you need another reason?!?! How about joining us at the forum and loading up your layout for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. Sounds good, doesn't it?!?!

And if you still need another reason. How about the fact that for $8.99 you get a bag full of coordinating goodies to make a layout and believe me when I tell there is pretty much always leftover goodies to make another project or two!!

Why are you still reading this?!?! With reasons like those you should be on your way to the store to get your kit!!! :)

June Product Highlight - Dress It Up Buttons

So tell me, how many times have you been in the store and walked by the racks of the fabulous Dress It Up buttons without actually seeing them?!?! I know I do it ALL the time!!
This month we are focusing on these awesome little embellishments! They are available in so many themes, shapes and colours that they really are the perfect finishing touch for just about any project!
Don't forget as Product Highlight, they are 15% off for the entire month of June!

Vicki - Oh my these buttons are cute. I had to promise to share them with Sid. (hmmm...may have to get some for Sid's birthday party). I used the ice cream, pinwheel and flower Dress it up Buttons on this layout. They are nice and flat on the back so they are easy to glue down.

Heather - I used the Tool Time buttons to accent my Father's Day layout. These buttons are so cute that not only will I be picking up a few more packages, I'll probably get some more Tool Time ones too.

Shelley -

Tanya - I decided to make a few cards with mine. I received the baby girl buttons - too cute and super fast way to dress up a card.

Lizzie - my dress it up buttons were buggies!!! so cute... esp with the snuggle bug line!!

Time for some DT Sneaks!!

The first is here and that makes it time to check in with the DT and see what they have been up to! They have outdone themselves this month, if you ask me! So many gorgeous layouts!! Check it out.

Vicki - This month I received the gorgeous Estate Sale line by Bella Blvd. It's cute, retro and totally cool! I made a layout to celebrate Sidney's acceptance into the National Ballet School...(yes, I'm a proud, bragging Momma!)

Heather - This month I am working with the fabulous Man of the House line from Bella Blvd. This has to be one of my most favourite masculine lines. I love the colours and the masculine patterns. The line has double sided papers, as well as stickers, chipboard embellies, and an alphabet. I really love the Blurbs, Billboards, and Bits A Bella as they are great additions to any layout.

Shelley - This month I was given the Bella Blvd All Inclusive line. It is a fun and summery line with lots of bright colours, perfect for your summer outings.

Tanya - I'm working with the Little Yellow Bicycle Snuggle Bug girl line. These are very soft muted - perfect baby girl colours and patterns. Some of these papers are just absolutely adorable I had a hard time cutting into them.

Lizzie - this month i got to work with the adorably cute little yellow bicycle line snuggle bug boy... perfect right!!! i have two lil boys so i couldn't be thrilled to work with it!
